HOW IT WORKS

Identify a real world problem

Understand real world
problems, research or
forecast an emerging trend

Define the problem

Ascertain the problem,
constraints and hindrances
presently faced by the target group

Establish the target group

Establish the specific group
of people at which your product
or service is aimed

Ideate the solution

Generate ideas and solutions
through sessions such as
Sketching, Prototyping,
Brainstorming, Brainwriting

Construct a solution

Create a logical plan
that details the steps
required to make
a solution

Present the solution

Demonstrate that
your argument
addresses
the problem

Make an impact

IDENTIFY A REAL WORLD PROBLEM

Students can do secondary research of
studying published papers, UN websites,
Government reports, NGO’s to understand
real world problems
Students can also involve in primary research
to establish a real world problem
Forecast an emerging trend or a futuristic
scenario that could be an emerging real world
problem

DEFINE THE PROBLEM

What is the problem presently
being faced by the Target group
– hard facts
What are the present
constraints and hindrances the
Target group faces in resolving
the problem
What are the Target groups
present alternatives as solutions
What are the present attitude
and behavior of the Target
group’s to solve the problem

ESTABLISH THE TARGET GROUP

Demographic profile of the Target
Group – Age, Sex, Income level, education level, Geography
Present occupation
Psychographic profile
Behavioral profiling

IDEATE THE SOLUTION

Potential to disrupt market: Can change habits, the change can
be permanent, the change adds new value
Clarity: The idea is clear, has fewer assumptions, will not have any
surprises during execution

Usability: Fulfills a need clearly, is practical and marketable

Stability: This should not be a fad, the idea should last a long time.

Scalability: Larger usage technologically and other infrastructure

Stickiness: Habit-forming, trend, emotional appeal, is a necessity

CONSTRUCT A SOLUTION

How will the solution overcome the present obstacles?
How is the solution superior to the present alternatives and options?
How does the solution solve the problem?
What will be the adoption curve of the solution

Who will be the immediate influencers

Who will be the early adopters
What impact will the solution have on society?

PRESENT THE SOLUTION

Submit the paper as per the structure of five-stage DFWT – DanFishel Way Of Thinking
A Three member jury panel consisting of DanFishel product heads and experts from outside will judge the presentation
The presentation will be of 45 minutes to be done by the student team. The presentation can be done online
The presentation style in terms of PPT or usage of audio, video, mock framework, skit etc … is entirely the discretion of the students
Post the presentation, the student team to submit all papers pertaining to the project to DanFishel for deeper evaluation
